Raj Abraham Suggests These 5 Ways to Stay Positive and Focused on Success

To be a successful entrepreneur, you consistently have to give your best. That’s why so many are drawn to become one in the first place. However, when your success feels like it is at the mercy of your customers, competitors, and the markets, it can feel at times like your best doesn’t make a difference.

The reality, however, couldn’t be further from the truth. While outside influences need to be addressed, if you fixate on them, you’ll undermine your effectiveness.

Here are five practices that consistently make a difference.

1. Practice persistence.

One of the most common mistakes people make is taking “no” to mean “never.”
As an entrepreneur, if you want to achieve your goals, you need to practice persistence until those “no’s” become a “yes.” This doesn’t mean being a nuisance and wearing people down until they give you what you want, but believing in your vision. It means a willingness to put forth the effort and energy necessary to implement your ideal.

2. Make your own luck.

While practicing persistence is a deliberate focus on a desired outcome, making your own luck is the other side of the equation. It is casting a wide net with the intent of achieving that same outcome.

3. Do what others won’t.

In the “Common Denominator of Success,” Albert E.N. Grey stated that a willingness to do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do was the key to success. Now before you think this means going the extra mile in everything you do, realize it is more about doing the right things—not everything—which makes all the difference. For instance, while this could mean working an 18-hour day, it could just as easily mean closing shop early to spend time with your family. The latter being a way to recharge your batteries and give you the inspiration necessary upon your return to work.

4. Don’t be afraid to fail.

For the most part, entrepreneurs aren’t afraid to fail. Otherwise, they’d still be working for someone else and chasing a regular and consistent paycheck. But when the success or failure of the business seems to hang in the balance with every decision you make, it can lead you to play more conservatively.

5. Pay it forward.

Finally, sometimes the best way to keep your head up is to give others a hand.

As an entrepreneur, it is easy to feel that your time is at a premium and there is little to spare. However, giving your time freely to others can pay you back exponentially.

Mentoring a new entrepreneur or speaking to a youth group about owning your own business can remind you why you decided to become an entrepreneur in the first place. Add to the list the numerous community outreach programs your company can become involved in and you and your employees might find and increase sense of pride in your company.

Raj Abraham Says These Startup Mistakes you can’t Afford to Make Again

The good news is that everyone expects entrepreneurs to make mistakes, since founders explore uncharted territory. In fact, investors recognize that founders usually learn more from mistakes than from success, so a well-explained startup failure can improve their odds of funding the next time around. However, investors do expect you know the common pitfalls—and not repeat them.

As an active angel investor and startup adviser, I’ve seen many of the same stumbling blocks repeated all too many times. As a result, repeating any of the following 10 mistakes outlined here won’t get you any credit for intelligence and learning and will cost you dearly in your funding credibility and real cash.

1. Assume you already know what your customers need and want.

2. Confidently believe that you have no real competitors.

3. Try to solve all the world’s problems with a first solution.

4. Forecast revenue growth that defies business principles.

5. Dismiss the need to register any intellectual property.

6. Count totally on friends and family to run the business.

7. Delegate cash-flow projections and transactions.

8. Hire helpers in lieu of people who are smarter than you.

9. Build the company at the expense of employees.

10. Try to build a business without specific milestones or a plan.

So, as you contemplate your next startup, it will be worth your effort to go the extra mile to avoid these 10 mistakes. Doing so may well save you the time and cost of a startup failure and also will save you from the embarrassing admission the next time around that you don’t pay attention to the advice and counsel of people who have been there before you. That doesn’t bode well for your ability to manage funding or your likelihood of success the second time around.

Raj Abraham Give These Reasons Why You Must Evaluate Your Failures

It might be painful, but examining your mistakes allows you to self-diagnose and re-calibrate focus.

Most entrepreneurs and leaders have little trouble planning ahead. After all, they are likely in business because they already have a compelling vision for their future. And past achievements certainly play a role in the confidence to lead.

Even so, one area even the brightest leaders may fail to consider is where they’ve missed the mark. We too often plan for the future or relish in our achievements rather than examine our missed opportunities.

Here are six reasons why you must evaluate your failures.

1. You can’t afford to repeat your mistakes

Everyone blunders. It goes without saying – repeat mistakes, and you won’t be in business very long. Often, the biggest error we make is not taking the time to review our past ones.

2. Your failures are some of your best opportunities to grow

Sometimes, a mistake is a one-time transgression. Other times, upon further examination, it is emblematic of a personal bad habit or a bias you weren’t consciously aware of. Identifying an opportunity to improve is the first step, but one that can slip by without a conscious review of the past.

3. Your failures are some of your best opportunities to help others grow

As a leader, the overall success of your company is dependent upon learning from mistakes. Your job as a leader is also to instruct, coach and educate your team.

4. Past mistakes help teach your team the appropriate way to respond to adversity and challenge

By sharing your failures and what you’ve learned from them, not only do you equip your team to make better strategic decisions, you also demonstrate the right mindset and attitude in how to respond to a fail.

5. Learning from failures is what separates the great ones from the rest of the pack

The demands of the modern leader are tremendous and numerous. To have reached the leader status, you undoubtedly have demonstrated an ability to make wise decisions more times than not.

6. You must re-calibrate your focus

As Idan Ravin states, one must re-calibrate their focus to stay on the right track. Think of a leader as the pilot of a high-speed aircraft traveling at hundreds of miles per hour.

Going through the exercise of examining your fails will be a difficult and humbling process. However temporarily unpleasant it may be, it is vital for long-term growth.

Raj Abraham Suggests These Simple Money-Making Ideas for Entrepreneurs

If you’re an entrepreneurial wannabe, here are some ideas to get you started.
So you want to be an entrepreneur? You don’t like bosses or you’re newly retired but too restless to just sit at home waiting for your kids to visit, or you need the extra cash.

The only problem is you have no idea which business to pursue.

A few key considerations to take into account before you get started:

1. Costs of production

If the cost to make or sell your item exceeds the money you will ever make from it, then don’t do it, try something else. You have to make a decent enough margin to cover the cost of renting a stall at the flea market or cost to hire a seamstress or cost of training. If your margins are tiny then you’re going to have to sell a heck of a lot to make any money.

2. Sales

The hardest part about being an entrepreneur is the sales, where are you going to find customers. Optimise your network of contacts buy making sure your neighbours and friends know about your services. Offer them discounts and just get them in the door for the first time to try it out. A glass of red or white wine won’t hurt either.

3. Marketing

Create a Facebook page with photos of the items you’re selling, once you’ve sold a few you can justify the expense of a proper WordPress site, if it’s well designed it will rank in Google and bring in most of your clients from there. Attend networking events and use social media to make sure there’s a constant stream of valuable contact and communication with your customers.

4. Business plan

Take the time to write out a one or two page business plan to make sure you’ve thought everything through properly, it will be worth the time and might save you a lot of time and money.
Don’t give up, being an entrepreneur is tough but it is always better than working for a boss. Good luck!

Raj Abraham Gives These Simple Ways to Stand out from Your Competition

With the explosive growth of the Internet, the opportunity for new business has almost become limitless. It is created a central place to tell potential customers who you are and how you can help their life. While the opportunity is great, there will always be competitors doing what you do and trying to reach the same people as you.

1. Go out of your way to honor what you say.

It is amazing how many businesses and entrepreneurs there are that do not keep the promises they have made. What should be simple is an opportunity for you to stand out if you do what you advertised and mean what you say. Even if it costs you more money, over-deliver on what your business has advertised.

2. Don’t claim other people’s ideas as your own—be original.

It is natural to want to copy success. Some of the most successful entrepreneurs became who they are because they modeled success—they did not copy it. People buy from someone they know, like and trust. They can never get to that place in their mind if they don’t know the real person behind the business.

3. Don’t lose your focus on the new and latest “must use” strategies.

With the growth of the Internet has come a new kind of access to people, knowledge, and strategies. Every day you can see a friend or acquaintance post about the latest and must use strategies, software, or hardware. There’s always a new social network to join and so on. Before you know it, you have wasted your time doing something that won’t help you reach your goals.

4. Be consistent when you agree to help your client solve a problem.

At the end of the day, someone getting help with their problems is the reason they do business with you. If your business does not solve some kind of problem, you will not be in business very long. There are a thousand different things to focus on and that have to get done in a business. You stand out when your focus is on your customer’s needs. Listen to what leads and customers are saying their biggest struggles are and then map put a strategy to help them.

Business does not have to be complicated. Your competition does not have to get business that should be yours. What should be common sense is surprisingly original today. Be true to who you are and the vision for your business. Focus on your customer and honor what you advertise. You will build a business that sees consistent growth.

Raj Abraham Gives These Reasons Your Small Business Needs Marketing

Don’t be the needle in the haystack. Make your needle sharp enough to cut through all the noise with custom content.

Constantly clamouring to grab the attention of prospective customers, small businesses are competing with a lot of noise.

Consumers are cutting through clutter by fast-forwarding television shows, subscribing to ad-free digital radio, installing ad-blockers to browse their favourite websites sans-ads and customising what’s in their social media feeds.

To avoid getting skipped over or ignored, savvy digital marketers must craft messages that their target audience wants to see.

When small businesses communicate with their customers by providing information instead of offering a sales pitch, the consumer will listen. The message and the brand is no longer an interruption, but a valued information provider.

Here are some of the ways content marketing drives results for small businesses.

1. Boosts brand awareness

2. Builds an identity as a trusted expert

4. Encourages your customer to take

5. Sharable content brings people in the door

6. Keeps your website fresh

When they come back, seeing something new and relevant makes their visit a better experience – and shows that the brand is a professional organisation.

Raj Abraham Describes These Keys To Develop A Successful Small Business

Courage, control and the keys to the courthouse – just a few things to think about.
Here are six things to keep in mind when you have a small business.

1. Success requires courage

It takes courage to start and persevere in your own business. In some ways, starting is often the most difficult part of the whole journey. Remember that courage is really 50 percent fear.
Your goal should be more than financial profit. Having your own business is usually a very long – even lifelong – project. With the inevitable obstacles and setbacks that will arise, doing something you really believe in is essential to finding the courage to continue.

2. Well begun is half done

The fearful may think that they are never quite at the point where they are ready to get started. As a result, many never start.
It’s easy to justify fear: “The time isn’t right,” “I need to collect more data first,” “I can’t find the right talented people,” “It doesn’t feel quite right,” “I need to reflect on it some more,” and so on. By justifying fear, such rationalisations become the entrepreneur’s Achilles heel.

3. Find the right mentor

Getting over that fear hump may require a good support group or mentor. It’s a lot easier for another person to identify your excessive fear than it is for you. If you are really identified with your rationalisations, even the best mentor can’t help. You will just ignore them, using your rationalisations to prove that the mentor is wrong.
You need to think and be open. You also need to be careful in selecting your advisors. Otherwise, you will just listen to people who collude with your current fears. They will simply feed your procrastination instead of helping you move past procrastination.

4. Keep the overhead down

The Donald Trumps of the world might start big, but generally speaking, individuals launching businesses start small. Keep your overhead down.
Lack of cash flow is probably the biggest cause of failure in small businesses. It’s a lot easier to expand than it is to cut back. When I started my school, my whole accounting system was on an 11”x17” pad of paper.

5. Carefully guard the keys to the courthouse

We live in an incredibly litigious time. Conflicts can easily result in litigation which consumes a tremendous amount of time, energy and money. When you enter a partnership, you are giving that partner a lot of power that they could, through litigation or not, wield against you if things go awry. The effects can be devastating.

6. Maintain control

These days, control seems to have quite a negative connotation. The truth is, many aspects of control are positive and important attributes.
Maintaining proper control means staying true to your vision and honouring your instincts on what is right for your business. After all, you understand your business better than anyone – probably better than even the best consultant on the planet.

Then find the courage to wisely and artfully take that first step and every step thereafter, day after day, month after month, year after year.

What Raj Abraham Talks About The Ways to Turn Your Life Around

If you could get just one thing through your head, life would be so much better it would turn your whole world upside down. No kidding.

Before I tell you what that one thing is, I need to set the mood. Have you ever had an epiphany where you realized that everything you thought you knew was wrong? Well, you are about to. Are you ready? Are you sure? Good.

Success does not come from books or blogs. Just to be clear so there’s no misunderstanding, there is not one person on God’s green earth—or in the virtual world, for that matter—who can change how things turn out for you. Not a single one. Except you.

Now that I have your attention, let me tell you what will help you make something of yourself and, if you do things right, live a good life. Yes, I know that sounds a bit anticlimactic—what with all the millions everyone else promises you – but that’s honestly the only thing I or anyone else can do for you. The rest is up to you.

1. Develop a strong work ethic.
In terms of building a successful career, work ethic trumps everything. What that means is doing your job and getting it done come hell or high water. It means striving to be better than anyone. It means working your tail off, meeting your commitments and making your boss, customers, or stakeholders deliriously happy.

2. Focus on doing only what matters.
Remember what I just said about work ethic? If you want to look at it in a broad sense, you need to figure out what matters most in life and focus on doing just that. If you prioritize and are disciplined about it, you can forget personal productivity, daily habits and all that other nonsense. None of it matters.

3. Don’t be a lazy slacker.
Quit screwing around and get to work. More importantly, quit screwing around and calling it work. What I mean by that is this: Everything you think will advance your prospects—building your personal brand, social networking, seminars, coaching sessions, reading blogs and self-help books—is a waste of time. All of it.

4. Quit searching for answers.
There are none. Actually, let me rephrase that. There are no answers that don not come from one of three places: Education, experience and introspection. They are the source of all learning. When I say education, I mean real education. School. Experience means working in the real world. And introspection means sitting quietly and listening to yourself. Notice: no books, no blogs.

5. Make smart decisions.

Smart people with good instincts and lots of experience take smart risks and make good choices. That, hands down, is the most important factor in determining how things turn out for you. Workers are paid to work. Managers are paid to manager. Top executives are paid to make smart decisions that end up making customers happy and making investors lots of money.

Just so you know, all of this used to be common sense but, in today’s world, it is wisdom. So be it. The sooner you understand that success comes only from you, your work, and your experience, the sooner you’ll turn your life around and become a huge success story. So get to it.

Raj Abraham Describes These Habits That can Turn Dreams Into Reality

A dream is something, a vision does something; a dream is a place to be, a vision is a place to go. A vision, in other words, is more structured, intentional, enduring and rooted in daily living than mere wishful thinking.

In his seminal text, The Path of Least Resistance, Robert Fritz describes a vision as a hybrid between future state (the result you want to create) and current reality (the starting point). Fritz argues there is an inherent tension between these two states that can help you “organize your actions, focus your values, and clearly see what is relevant in current reality.”

Moving from one to the other.

And herein lies the secret of turning ephemeral dreams into tangible outcomes, of launching that company that’s been on the bucket list for decades, or publishing that novel that´s been languishing in the bottom drawer since the dawn of time — it´s being able to structure the dream into something that inspires action and momentum.

Here are six habits that can help turn dreams into tangible outcomes:

1. Materialize your dream using visualization.

2. Prioritize your dreams.

3. Set key milestones.

4. Monitor progress.

5. Enlist support.

6. Know when to give up.

We should never stop dreaming; after all, our dreams are what makes us human. They shape and guide us. But there is a world of difference between being a dreamer and transitioning your dreams into something tangible. This ability to build personal momentum and achieve realistic objectives is the cornerstone of self-mastery, and every effective entrepreneur that I have ever met gets this right.

Raj Abraham Explains Why Entrepreneurs Must Believe in Themselves

One of the defining qualities of being a successful entrepreneur is the willingness to stop and re-evaluate a situation that is not working. And entrepreneurs are constantly hoping for improvement.

The truth is that I believed in myself when no one else did.

There will be so many unknowns in your career. But one thing I know for sure is that entrepreneurs must believe in themselves, especially when others do not. Own the fact that it is your life that you are living and trust yourself to make good decisions.

Here are a few of the sentiments that keep me going and help me continue believing in myself:

1. Time heals all wounds.

This statement is a cliché, but I have found it to be true. Time gives people the perspective they need to deal with difficulties, whether they are physical scars or personal struggles. I have started thinking about failure as my friend.

2. Anything worth achieving takes longer than one might expect.

Pride and appreciation are developed over time. That is actually a great thing. Learn to be patient. Keep moving forward and try to not become discouraged by how long it takes to create something. There are no overnight successes and you need to hang tough to be successful.

3. I can figure out anything.

My Mom taught me that the power of observation is unparalleled and that there is not anything someone cannot learn by teaching himself or herself. I may not always end up with results that are 100% right, but I can get close.

This belief has empowered me to try new things all my life. I know I do not have to wait for someone to give me permission. I know I do not need to become an expert to get things done.

4. The path to success is never straight.

You might as well learn to how to navigate curves since the way forward is never completely straight.

Finding my purpose in life has helped me continue to have faith in myself. I let this be my guiding light. When I become distracted, this reminds me of what is important. When things are not going my way, I turn to my purpose for inspiration.

But everything else has fallen into place (like I always knew it would) because of my conviction. I found a way to live with the unknown and you should try to, as well. Your path to becoming a successful entrepreneur will be littered with failures and successes. Do not let either of them define you. It is a marathon not a sprint.

Raj Abraham Share Easy Ways for Entrepreneurs to Boost Motivation Every Day

In my years as an entrepreneur, author and business advisor, I have seen others fail and had countless failures of my own. I have stayed up endless late nights working on a new project, only to rip it apart and start all over again. I’ve heard “no” more times than I can count. But through all of the trials and tribulations of being my own boss, I have learned one important lesson: staying motivated is a daily choice.

Your success depends on training your mind to see the excitement and good in your daily work. Focusing on the negative causes stress, anger and worry that wear you down mentally and physically with dire consequences: heart disease, chronic anxiety and heated outbursts with your friends and family.

When you see the excitement and the positivity in the mundane you recognize you have a life that you can be proud of. Then you are excited to attack! Here are seven daily motivational practices I’ve found that are sure to bring you success.

1. Stay clear about your path.
2. Keep affirmations where you can see them.
3. Remember the grind you left behind.
4. Think about others first.
5. Start each day anew.
6. Set up effortless feedback channels.
7. Surround yourself with motivating people.

If you find yourself weighed down by the people around you, or you’re constantly the smartest person in the room, you’re probably in the wrong place. My greatest sources of motivation are the passionate, hard working people around me who have grand dreams and brilliant minds. Build your team and your community with people who push you to grow and think outside the box. When you know you have to be on your toes to keep up, you will work harder and think bigger. That same passion will ignite in you.

You Must Have These Things To Be an Entrepreneur Says Raj Abraham

It takes a lot of characteristics to run a business. Ambition, intelligence and tenacity are just a few. It also takes love. It takes love for your vision, your work and yourself. Love is the thing that burns inside you when people tell you that you should give up on your idea. It’s the reason you get out of bed in the morning, ready to kick butt at your own business. Love is also the grace you grant yourself when you make a big mistake.

Love can take many forms, like showing vulnerability by putting yourself out there, trusting in a process to allow something to unfold and being authentic with the people you encounter every day. It can seem uncomfortable to talk about these things in a business article, but the truth is — that’s where all the magic happens.

What Raj Abraham Suggests to Become a Stronger Business Leader

Today’s employees want more from the workplace. They need their leaders to have their backs. But too many leaders are operating in survival mode and thus don’t share enough of themselves to protect their own domain. Without leaders to sponsor and mentor high-potential employees, many are reckoning with the changing terrain on their own, which puts their organizations at risk.

When brands don’t invest in and retain the right people intelligence, they lose marketplace opportunity. And with a workplace and a marketplace that are becoming younger, more diverse, technologically savvy and globally connected, leaders should become more intent on seeing what lies around, beneath and beyond what they seek for their businesses as a growth strategy. But too many leaders today don’t create workplaces that value diversity of thought. Millennials, women and other diverse populations are more inclined to see, show, grow and share -- and value them all -- but cannot manage in the wrong types of environments that don’t allow them to be more of themselves.

In today’s fast-paced, talent-based, trust-demanding world of work, remaining competitive requires alignment around a set of values, beliefs and behaviors. These values must then become part of and define a company’s culture beyond words in training manuals and annual reports. Culture must be a conscious choice and created by design, not by accident. Without shared values that everyone can embrace and act on, corporate cultures harbor contradictions and conflicts, creating environments where leadership agendas abound and disengaged employees lack the right mindset to perform at their best. By contrast, the shared values that cultivate the best corporate cultures serve as the ultimate platforms to drive growth, innovation and opportunity.

It takes great leadership to keep these corporate cultures on the right path and continuously improving. The values they propagate within their organizations should be explicit, thoughtful and authentic as they focus on what everyone should be solving for simultaneously -- the opportunity gaps in the workplace/workforce, among external partners and within marketplace/consumers -- so they continue to evolve and grow stronger. That’s how we create high-performance environments that enable the full potential in the people our leadership and businesses touch.

Leaders, regardless of hierarchy or rank, must be held accountable to communicate, illustrate and reinforce the values that will help the company achieve its missions, goals and objectives. Effective corporate cultures support high-performance through both diversity of thought and likemindedness in approach, style and attitude. Strong corporate cultures blend the strengths of people while celebrating their individuality and authenticity in support of an organization’s vision and mission, goals and objectives.

Leaders need the resiliency the innovation mentality gives them to constantly move people forward and avoid falling into complacency traps. They must use diversity of thought to make sure that everyone’s contributing and embracing their personal brands and adding value -- value that’s measurable and sustainable. They apply the six characteristics of the innovation mentality to break free from templates and create organizations led by those personal brands and their value propositions, not job titles or descriptions. The characteristics of the innovation mentality empower all of us to:

Share our identities. Be proud of who you are. Our differences are our strengths. (See opportunity in everything.)

Own our development. Invest in yourself. Anything is possible. (Anticipate the unexpected, unleash your passionate pursuits.)

Bring others along. Invest in the development and advancement of others. Make dreams come true. (Live with an entrepreneurial spirit, work with a generous purpose.)

Define our future. Improve the experience for everyone. (Lead to leave a legacy.)

You discover and develop your personal brand to fit best. You broaden your perspectives and those of your team, enable creativity and strengthen teamwork and the value we place on one another. You create new best practices and improve output. You problem-solve, plan and execute more effectively. And you propel innovation and seize opportunities previously unseen.

So, how do you get going in the right direction? How do you get started? Ask your employees. If you give them the safe space free from judgment, they’ll tell you. They’ll unleash their passionate pursuits if you’re courageous and vulnerable enough to listen to them, and advance them into roles of influence as a strategy for growth.

What is Raj Abraham's Idea to Get More Sales At Your Startup

When you run a Startup, the success of that Startup is dependent on numbers in bank account. Making sales is one thing and making sales out of profits is another thing. Getting those numbers is simple, It’s all about playing the right track and creating that mood with clients at right time.

1. Have a big dream

Have a big dream, Universe is big genie, it always says your wish is my command. If you have dream, sell your dreams and helps others to fulfil theirs. You as a founder are quite convinced and love your product or service but, that is no justification that your customers would love your product too.

2. People reject what they don’t understand

When you are new to this field, and you start to have inquiries related to your services, you focus on grabbing more and more clients. But, You cannot afford to make mistakes. This is the time where you have to focus on building trust and not just the clients.

3. Silence is better than bullshit; Deliver quality and not quantity

A product can sustain the quality it delivers no matter how many features it delivers. If there is one product that has only ten features and delivers the quality, and another product which has 20 features but is poor in quality, the first product will always win and make wonderful sales. If your product is not promising, you can’t make a good name for your company.

4. Support is language the blind can see and deaf can hear

Now, you have made good sales, earned trust of your customers. So, now what? Now, comes the point where your product is in use, and there will be problems or difficulties that your customers might be facing while using your service or product.

5. Money never sleeps; Ask for referral

80% people never ask for a referral. It is good practise always to ask for referrals because when people don’t know your product but they know someone who uses it and whom they trust and believe in, they might come to you. It is the easiest way to crack great good deals.

6. Write like a human being; People hate templates

The proposal must be one-to-one. Robotic content is always dry. It lacks that spirit and responsibility to it. Your writing will reflect how well have you digested their requirements and their wants. There are supposed to be creative sequences in your way of presenting. It must be crisp, straight and to-the-point.

7. Sales is like a marriage; people do it with whom they trust

Well, when you sell your product, do it with emotions and feelings. Sales is a maneuver; it has a series of skilled movements entwined into it.

When you promise to do something to your customer, deliver that, If something is not working, the sooner you’ll get honest with this fact with your clients, the more trustworthy will your relationship will be.

Raj Abraham's Sales and Marketing Tips for Startups

Marketing done right can be an incredible boon for your business’s net income. Done wrong, however, it can feel like throwing money into a raging bonfire. Because small business owners have to be whatever their small business needs -- all the time -- it can be difficult to master all the nuances that go into sales or marketing. If you’re not a natural salesperson, it can be even more difficult. Fear not, the following nine marketing tips for startups can help you make more sales, market better and waste less money.

1. Sell the benefit, not a comparison.

How you market yourself is all about highlighting what makes you different. There are three major ways to do that.

Cost (you know how to price a product better than the competition)
Quality (you’re better)
A combination thereof (you offer the better value)

But how you sell yourself is different than how you market yourself. You can tell someone that you provide a product or service that is cheaper or more effective than that of another business, but that doesn’t say how much better you are going to make the customer’s life.

2. Listen to your customer.

Sam Walton, WalMart's famed mass retail titan, started his empire in rural America. This was despite the prevailing business logic saying a mass retailer anywhere but in a city with a concentrated population would fail. The logic was, if you wanted to move mass quantities of goods, you needed mass quantities of people.

3. Market your product before it’s ready.

Some businesses wait until their product is perfect before they do any marketing or awareness campaigning. That can be a costly mistake. Many businesses expect to sell their product as soon as it’s ready. But if no one knows about it, then demand will start at zero until you undergo a marketing campaign to build brand awareness for potential customers.

4. Think outside the box.

The marketing landscape has dramatically changed since I started my first business more than 30 years ago. Back then, there were no search engines or social media platforms. There was no internet as we know it. Now, startups can utilize a bevy of free, online marketing techniques that are both creative and effective. For example, you can use online video marketing, social media, blog influencers, crowdsourcing, competitions, content marketing, thought leadership and more.

5. Test fast. Fail fast.

Marketing that you can’t measure is failed marketing. Sure, you may spend money to do some advertisement, and you may even see an uptick in sales around the same time you ran the ads. But how can you be sure what you spent on ads correlates with sales? Maybe it was something else altogether. Maybe there is a natural, seasonal uptick for what you sell that will go away in a month.

6. We look forward to seeing you again.

Reward loyalty or interest. I tell my employees at Patriot Software, my online accounting and payroll company, that our customers are our sales department. Word-of-mouth testimonials and customers who are brand advocates are better than any sales team you could put together. So, I continuously reward customers with competitive pricing, incredible customer support and automatic updates to enhance the software.

Raj Abraham Gives These Tips to Handle Your Business Finaces

Many small business owners and freelancers might be excellent at their craft. They offer great products and services. They may even be able to sell them well too. However, when it comes to the most basic financial aspects of their business, they sometimes fall short. Here are some tips to make handling your business finances easier.

1. Let your bank do the heavy lifting
Tom Diem, CFP® and President of Diem Wealth Management believes how you set up your banking is key when it comes to staying organized. He keeps a separate credit card and checking account for business expenses. He says, “I am able to track my spending for whatever period of time I choose and can save PDF files in cloud storage.”  If you prefer a physical copy, you can print out what you need as well. Diem adds that it’s all accessible through your bank. If you’re not sure how to go about getting the information, many banks have people to guide you through the process.

2. Capture receipts
When it comes to staying on top of business expenses and saving receipts, President and Wealth Advisor Peter Huminski of Thoriumwealth.com believes Shoeboxed is great for storing and keeping track of them. It helps you stay on top of business expenses and saves receipts in a digital format. He explains, “When it comes time to reconcile the books in Quickbooks, it can be done quickly and with relative ease.” Hub Doc is another option for capturing receipts as well as recurring bills and expenses. It syncs to Quickbooks online and Xero accounting programs.

3. Tips for entering receipts
There are variety of ways to automate your expenses and receipts directly into your accounting software. Clint Haynes of Kansas City Financial Planner and President of Nextgen Wealth says, “One solution is to use an American Express credit card that will directly link up your debit or credit cards using Quicken and Expensify.” However, if you’re utilizing a spreadsheet that isn’t connected to accounts, you’ll have to manually enter receipts. If this is the case, he recommends entering them on a weekly basis rather than a monthly or quarterly one. Devote 30 minutes or so a week to take care of this. While it might seem hard at first, if you keep at it. It can become a well-oiled routine in no time.

The Bottom Line
While bookkeeping and handling other financial aspects of your business may not be the most glamorous part of your work, use the tips above to make it a little easier. This will help you streamline your bookkeeping, help your business run smoothly and you never know, it could bring out the inner financial geek in you.

Raj Abraham Describes These Essential Rules for Running a Business

Sales cures all. We’ve all heard this before. It means that if you can hire a great sales staff, you'll be ahead of the game.

Rule 1: Always have a full sales pipeline.

You must always have a full sales pipeline. It’s better to say no to work than to not have any work to say no to. Because if something happens, you won’t have anything waiting. And then it’s scramble mode.

Rule 2: Don’t be reliant on one customer.

There’s one other key piece to running a business: Don’t be reliant on one client. If any one client accounts for the major portion of your business, you're in trouble.

Key takeaway: Sales cures all.

Yes, it does. Step one is having a full sales pipeline. In order to have sales, you must have a pipeline of leads. But equally important is not being dependent upon one client. If you are . . . having a pipeline of leads still may not save you.

One of my biggest fears is not having enough revenue coming in to support my team. Building a full sales pipeline and not being reliant on any one client reduces this fear and relieves stress. It’s the difference between being reactive and being preventative.

As an entrepreneur, you can’t prevent all fires. But if there are things you can do to prevent ones you know will arise, then do them, and do everything else you can think of, to survive.

Raj Abraham Suggests These Innovative Ways To Motivate Your Team

Motivating employees to do their best work is far from a simple task. Even the most adept leaders can struggle with meeting their workers’ needs. However, there are a lot of awesome strategies you can use to create a more engaging work environment to boost employee morale and see excellent output.

1. Implement flexible hours and ability to work remote.

Work-life balance has become a very important part of people’s everyday lives. When people feel like they are married to their job, they will inevitably begin thinking about making a change so they can spend more time with loved ones.

2. Consider making your office pet-friendly.

Pets can make lives more enjoyable in a number of ways. In fact, an experiment done at Central Michigan University found that having dogs in the workplace can increase trust among employees and act as social catalysts. Also, most people do not want to leave their animals at home by themselves all day. As a lot of owners have learned, a lonely, bored pet can get destructive.

3. Deck out the game room.

Having a game room at work is great way for employees to take a break and re-energize. Some experts are convinced that amenities such as ping-pong tables and video games can improve both morale and productivity. Having fun with fellow employees at work can raise commitment values, increase happiness and allow workers to bond outside the everyday stress their jobs entail.

4. Celebrate often.

Letting your employees know that you appreciate them and they are valued can do a lot to boost morale and inspire top-notch work. This can be celebrating a birthday or a simply a good week.
Everyone likes to be recognized. Creating an innovative program that celebrates your employees can be a game changer for inspiring stellar work performances.

What is Raj Abraham's Idea to Achieve Any Goal in Life

We all have goals in life. Each one of us wants to achieve something, whether great or small, at some point in our lives. We have deep-seated hopes and dreams for the future and a burning desire to accomplish some great feats. It's stitched into the very fabric of our society, woven into the core of who we are, deep down inside. It's emblazoned in our DNA, genetically pre-dispositioned, not just for mere survival, but also with a yearning passion to thrive.

In fact, it's part of what's made us as a culture into who we are. Our species has more than just survived; we've quite literally thrived, achieving outlandish results thanks to the wild-eyed innovations that have sparked the possibility to make the seemingly impossible a reality in our lives. Not only have we wished for the moon, but we've also shot for the stars.

The 7 steps for achieving any goal.

Undoubtedly, achieving any goal requires acute self-discipline. It involves a conscious awareness of our actions and the ability to overcome some of the bad habits that might be holding us back. Instilling self-discipline into our lives is no easy task. It requires an unwavering attention to our actions and an unrelenting drive for wanting to achieve something big.

1. (S) -- Get (S)pecific about your goals

The first step in the SMARTER method of goal setting is to get highly specific about what you intend to achieve. You have to ensure that it's measurable so that it can be tracked, but you also have to put a great deal of detail into what it is you intend to achieve. You can't just say you want to be rich. It doesn't work that way.

2. (M) -- Ensure that your goals are (M)eaningful

Goals can't just be specific. The second step for achieving your goals is to ensure that they're meaningful. We will always do more to achieve a goal that has a deep-rooted meaning to us than we will to achieve something that's superficial. So, if you want to have a million dollar net worth because of the status it affords, you can forget about your chances for success.

3. (A) -- Pick goals that are (A)chievable.

I'm all for picking lofty long-term goals. Ten years down the road, we can achieve anything as long as we work hard during that entire period. But, when it comes to your one, two and even three-year goals, ensure that they're achievable. Don't say that you're going to make a billion dollars in 12 months if you're currently heavily in debt.

4. (R) -- The goals must be (R)elevant.

How relevant are the goals that you've selected for your life and your future? Are they aligned with who you are? Do they resonate with your core values and beliefs? Or, do they go contrary to everything that you believe in? When we pick goals that go against the grain of who we are, we find it much more difficult to follow through.

5. (T) -- Make sure the goals are (T)ime-bound.

Goals must be time-bound in order to be achievable. When do you plan on achieving this goal? Don't just say you want to get rich in the future or make a million dollars in the next few years. You have to pick a date on the calendar if you're serious about achieving that goal.

6. (E) -- You have to (E)valuate your progress along the way.

When goals are time-bound, they can be evaluated, allowing you to track your progress along the way. The more meticulous you track your goals, the more likely you'll be to follow through. Pick a system for tracking your goals, and do it every single day. This will give you a barometer towards success.

7. (R) -- Always (R)e-adjust your approach to reach your goals.

If you evaluate your progress, and you realize that you're getting further away from your goals rather than closer to them, you can re-adjust your approach. This gives you a moment to correct things. You might not notice this if you fail to evaluate your progress on a daily basis.

Our goals are very much like an airplane's journey. We're trying to reach our final destination, and in order to do that, we need to be clear about what that destination is and when we'll reach it. Then, all we need to do is plan, take action and to modify our approach along the way in order to get to where we're going in the long term. Simple sounding, but clearly far harder to implement.

What Raj Abraham Thinks About the Importance of Digital Marketing for Start-ups

Marketers tend to love talking about the big, high budget campaigns. People writing up case studies are naturally drawn to big brands with big budgets, as they have the capacity to produce the 'flashiest' campaigns and assets. But investment in marketing for startups and smaller businesses is more important by volume, even though in each the budget is limited and every dollar, euro or pound of investment counts.

If you're not familiar with the RACE framework, this infographic gives a brief explanation - you can see it covers the activities to support marketing across the customer lifecycle or funnel and how to measure them.

Questions to get started

As a starting point, here are some research activities to get you started with your small business digital marketing plan:

Customer search behaviour research – determine how your prospects search as explored in the Reach section – understanding the volume and type of customer intent is vital where you are looking to grab more share of search when people search for your products or services.

Customer profiles – which types of customers visit your site and then convert to lead or sale? How does this differ compared to other traditional channels? We believe that businesses of all sizes should have target personas or “pen portraits” of 2 to 3 customer types.

Competitor research – You can run a profitable site without considering competitors, but a review as part of planning will definitely give you ideas and is essential to spot weaknesses and opportunities as part of SWOT analysis. You can consider the core marketing mix of the 4Ps and their effectiveness across RACE as described in our Competitor Benchmarking Guide

Influencer, partner and intermediary research – which types of people and other sites will influence your audience as they look for your type or product and service? This is often neglected, but partnerships and certain types of influencers6 can be a great source of low cost, quality traffic.

Current business effectiveness – mine your sales data

If you would like to know more about marketing for startups or SMEs/SMBs, take a look at our guide for small and medium businesses and startups. It's just one resource in our toolkit for Startups and SMBs in the members area. It provides a ‘one-stop’ source for all the main issues you should consider when marketing your business online. For example, it highlights the main factors to consider for getting better results from search engine optimisation, Google AdWords, display advertising, email marketing and conversion rate optimisation. It is packed full of specific questions you should ask yourself to get the most from digital marketing. The answers cover the full range of online marketing activities to help you ‘Plan, Manage and Optimize’ your digital marketing.

Are you taking full advantage of the benefits social media has to offer? Whether you are in the startup stage or ten years into your entrepreneurial journey, it’s critical that your business is active on social media. It’s not about throwing up a Facebook page and calling it a day. The strategy and value of social media can change the very landscape of your business. So, why exactly do you need to be on social media and how can you take advantage of it? Here are five ways to take advantage of social media for your business.

1. Get The World Needs To Know You Exist

It’s fantastic that you’ve created an amazing product, service, or business, but if you want to keep that momentum going, you’ll need to go where your customers are: on social media. Don’t make the mistake of putting social media on the back burner and getting left behind. Social media helps you increase your brand awareness and your messaging. It’s the chance for you to showcase what you stand for in the public eye so people understand not only what your company does but also what it stands for.

2. Get Quick Feedback On Your Products & Services

If you really want to move fast with your company, what better way than to ask the customers trying it? Do you need to test a new product? Find your beta testers on social media and get feedback at rapid pace. Not only will they give you feedback, but you’ll also cultivate a loyal following from the beginning by involving them and providing great customer service along the way.

3. Monitor Leads & Potential Prospects

Wouldn’t it be great if you could find key influencers in your industry and create relationships with them? Well, you can through social media. You can find influencers and monitor tons of online conversations by searching for keywords and by observing negative or positive sentiments. For example, if someone is having bad experience with a competitor’s product, you can swoop in and offer a solution. Check out these social media tools that can help you monitor and manage your social media.

4. Create Connections To Make A Huge Business Impact

Need referrals or business partners? Well, by building your social media network, you’ll have more access to these potential collaborators. Social media gives you the opportunity to expand your influence and to reach even just one potential investor, brand advocate, or future employee that could completely change the game for your business.

5. Find A Supportive Entrepreneurial Community

Let’s face it: Being an entrepreneur is no cakewalk. At some point, you’ll want to get advice and support from other entrepreneurs going down the same path. Social media is the perfect place to create these connections. What’s better than finding mentors or startup support groups online and turning these into real life relationships? You can join Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups, and even join Meetups. It’s easy to use social media to search for other entrepreneurs by city location, especially on Twitter.

No matter where you are in your entrepreneurial journey, having a presence on social media is crucial. Social media holds a vast treasure chest of benefits for entrepreneurs, and taking advantage of these benefits can completely revitalize your business.

What Raj Abraham Thinks About Need and Importance of Marketing Research in Business

The most important task of a marketer is to get the right product at the right place with the right price to the right person. Besides, it was also necessary to go back and find whether consumer is getting optimum satisfaction, so that consumer remains loyal. These aspects made it imperative for the marketers to conduct marketing research.

The following points explain the need for and importance of marketing research:

1. Identifying problem and opportunities in the market:

It helps in identifying new market opportunities for existing and new products. It provides information on market share, nature of competition, customer satisfaction levels, sales performances and channel of distribution. This helps the firms is solving problems.

2. Formulating market strategies:

Today, markets are no more local. They have become global. Manufactures find it difficult to contact customers and control distribution channels. Competition is equally severe. The consumer needs are difficult to predict. Market segmentation is a complicated task in such wide markets. The marketing intelligence provided through marketing research not only helps in framing but also in implementing the market strategies.

3. Determining consumer needs and wants:

Marketing has become customer-centric. However, large-scale production needs intermediaries for mass distribution. Due to prevalence of multi channels of distribution, there is an information gap. Marketing research helps in collecting information on consumers from structured distribution research and helps in making marketing customer oriented.

4. For effective communication mix:

In an era of micro- rather than mass-marketing, communication plays a vital role. Marketing research uses promotional research to study media mix, advertising effectiveness and integrated communication tools. Research on such aspects will help in promoting effectively a company’s product in the market.

5. Improving selling activities:

Marketing research is used to analyse and evaluate performances of a company within a market. It also studies effectiveness of a sales force. It helps in identifying sales territories. Such information helps the companies in identifying areas of shortcoming in sales. It also examines alternative methods for distribution of goods.

6. For sales forecasting:

The most challenging task for any production manager is to keep optimum levels of inventory. However, production is undertaken in anticipation of demand. Therefore, scientific forecast of sales is required. Marketing research helps in sales forecasting by using market share method, sales force estimate method and jury method. This can also help in fixing sales quotas and marketing plans.

7. To revitalize brands:

Marketing research is used to study and find out the existing brand position. It finds out the recall value of brands. It explores the possibilities of brand extension or prospects of changing existing brand names. The main purpose of marketing is to create brand loyalty. Marketing research helps in developing techniques to popularize and retain brand loyalty.

8. To facilitate smooth introduction of new products:

Marketing research helps in testing the new products in one or two markets on a small scale. This helps in finding out consumer response to new product and develop a suitable marketing mix. It reveals the problems of the customers regarding new products. Thus, it controls the risk involved in introducing a new product.

9. Determine export potentials:

The development in transport and communication has helped in globalization and digitalization of world trade. This has helped in boosting the growth of international markets. Marketing research helps in conducting market survey for export. It. collects information on marketing environment prevailing in a country. By collecting data on consumers from different countries, it indicates export potentials.

10. Managerial decision-making:

Marketing research plays a vital role in the decision-making processes by supplying relevant, up-to-date and accurate data to the decision-makers. Managers need up-to-date information to access customer needs and wants, market situation, technological change and extent of competition.

Branding Tips for Small Business Owners By Raj Abraham

Many small business owners already understand that branding is essential to their business, but a surprisingly high number of them don't really know why.

They recognise the link between successful businesses and strong branding, and aspire to build a brand that emulates similar success for themselves. And they understand that branding is not just a logo or how their business is perceived externally. But too few realise that successful brands have this branding at the heart of the business. So much so that in many ways you could almost substitute the word brand for business.

Branding is a way of defining your business to yourself, your team and your external audiences. It could be called the business’ “identity”, but only on the understanding that it embodies the core of what the business is and its values, not just what it looks and sounds like. Customers of all sorts of businesses are so savvy today that they can see through most attempts by companies to gloss, spin or charm their way to sales.

The benefits that a strategically defined brand can bring are the same as when people fall in love with each other. When customers connect emotively - because they share the same values and beliefs of a brand - it leads to higher sales and better brand differentiation. It also leads to loyalty, advocacy and can even protect your price in times when competitors rely on promotional discounts to drive sales. It can also give you the ideal platform from which to extend your offering or range.

Here are ten tips on how to successfully implement branding for your business.

1.  Start by defining your brand.
Review the product or service your business offers, pinpoint the space in the market it occupies and research the emotive and rational needs and concerns of your customers. Your brand character should promote your business, connect with your customer base and differentiate you in the market.

2.  When building your brand, think of it as a person.
Every one of us is an individual whose character is made up of beliefs, values and purposes that define who we are and who we connect with. Our personality determines how we behave in different situations, how we dress and what we say. Of course for people it's intuitive and it's rare that you even consider what your own character is, but when you're building a brand it's vital to have that understanding.

3.  Consider what is driving your business.
What does it believe in, what is its purpose and who are its brand heroes. These things can help establish your emotive brand positioning and inform the identity and character for brand communications.

4.  Aim to build long-term relationships with your customers.
Don’t dress up your offering and raise expectations that result in broken promises, create trust with honest branding - be clear who your company is and be true to the values that drive it every day.

5.  Speak to your customers with a consistent tone of voice.
It will help reinforce the business’ character and clarify its offering so customers are aware exactly what to expect from the product or service.

6.  Don't repeat the same message in the same way over and over again.
Alternatively, aim to make your key messages work together to build a coherent identity.

7.  Don’t try to mimic the look of chains or big brands.
Try and carve out your own distinctive identity. There is a big consumer trend towards independent establishments, and several chains are in fact trying to mimic an independent feel to capture some of that market. Truly independent operators can leverage their status to attract customers who are looking for something more original and authentic, that aligns with how feel about themselves.

8.  Be innovative, bold and daring - stand for something you believe in.
Big brands are encumbered by large layers of bureaucracy, preventing them from being flexible and reacting to the ever-changing needs of their customers. Those layers of decision-makers can make it hard for them to be daring with their branding.

9.  Always consider your branding when communicating with customers.
Don't lose your pride or dilute your brand positioning with indiscriminate discounting. Try offering more, rather than slashing prices. Promotions are an opportunity to reinforce your brand mission.

10. The old way of stamping your logo on everything won't cut it.
The future of branding is fluid and engaging - respect your customers' intelligence by not giving everything away up front. Generate some intrigue and allow them to unearth more about your brand for themselves. This is the way to foster ambassadors who revel in telling other people what they have discovered.

Marketing Tips By Raj Abraham

1. If you want to avoid wasting stacks of money and missing countless sales opportunities, throw your old marketing guides and audio programs in the recycling bin!

2. You may or may not be familiar with the phrase Content Marketing, yet you visit content marketing sites every time you access the Internet. When you visit news sites, entertainment sites or blogs like this, which offer business advice, you are visiting a site that uses content (useful information) to market itself. Content Marketing can successfully be used to market any type of business and it is unbeatable when it comes to attracting new clients, sales leads, inquiries and subscribers.

3. Email marketing is extremely cost effective and one of the most powerful marketing tools available to small businesses. This is because it provides predictable results and costs little or nothing to use.

4. One of the biggest myths in business is that you must have a large network if you want to succeed.  In fact, you need just 5 or 10 people to begin with. The reality is that the size of your network is not what’s important.  It’s the influence of the people within your network that counts.

5. Most small businesses are unaware that their website is capable of being a 24/7, lead generating or sales machine, marketing tips, internet marketing. Your website can generate high quality enquiries, leads, phone calls and sales from interested prospective clients… so long as you do it right.

6. It’s impossible to effectively sell or market your services unless you have researched your competitors. You need to know what offers, guarantees, prices or fees you are selling against, in order to make YOUR offering the most attractive to potential clients.

7. Sometimes known as a J.V, a Joint Venture is where you and another business or person get together to (usually) cross-market your services. The key to Joint Venture success, is to find someone credible, who offers a non-conflicting product or service to the exact same profile of person or business as you do.

8. An endorsed relationship is similar to a joint venture – But with a massive difference: The person you do the venture with actually gives you their professional or personal endorsement. This is marketing gold dust.
